Our experienced team of plastic surgeons and healthcare professionals, including nurses and psychologists, collaborate to ensure that every patient receives personalised attention and high-quality care in a compassionate setting.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Patient Co-ordinator to join our team on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave, for a minimum of 6 months. This role involves ensuring a seamless patient experience, from scheduling appointments to providing support before and after surgical procedures.
The position is for 3 days per week, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. There is some flexibility with which days are worked (Monday to Friday), though Monday, Wednesday and Friday would be ideal.
There may be potential for extension depending on the length of the leave or future opportunities within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere. Handle incoming calls and emails, addressing enquiries about cosmetic procedures and skin cancer management.
- Scheduling: Organise and manage patient appointments for consultations, surgeries and follow-ups, optimising schedules for our healthcare providers.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate patient records, manage data entry and prepare electronic files for consultations and surgeries. Assist with clinical photography and imaging.
- Billing and Insurance: Process patient invoicing, manage insurance claims and assist patients with their financial responsibilities, including Medicare online claiming.
- Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, nurses and allied health professionals to enhance patient care and support clinic operations.
About You:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or patient co-ordinator while desirable is not essential.
- Strong customer service skills and a commitment to patient satisfaction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong skills in basic office applications and general computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes is advantageous.
- Understanding of medical terminology, particularly related to cosmetic and skin cancer procedures.
