About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator Leading Hand who can combine hands-on forklift operation with leadership responsibilities, both in an operational space as well as in the office to support leadership growth. You will supervise a small team of operators, ensure inventory accuracy, maintain safe work practices, and contribute to the day-to-day efficiency of our Burnie warehouse. This role is for anybody who has some leadership experience or believes they have the skills and ambition to move into a leadership role.

Primary Duties:

  • Unload and load vehicles and sort them appropriately and safely.
  • Scanning freight, freight sortation and re-palletising of freight.
  • Palletising freight for travel where required.
  • Ensuring the correct movement and distribution of freight in a timely manner.
  • Carry out all duties within set time frames and follow instructions closely.
  • Identify damaged and report them in accordance with site processes.
  • Ensure compliance and safety are always adhered to.
  • Restrain loads safely as well as with the correct use of straps where required.
  • Lead and supervise a team of forklift operators.
  • Monitor inventory movement and maintain stock accuracy.
  • Assist with training new operators and onboarding staff.
  • Coordinate with warehouse management to achieve operational targets.
  • Report equipment issues and recommend maintenance or improvements.

About You:

  • Hold a current & valid Forklift License (mandatory).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset and proactive attitude.
  • Effective Computer and Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (preferred but not essential)
  • Full Rights to Work in Australia
