About the Role

We're looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to guide our Academic Support Officers and we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, Academic and Research Services to lead a dedicated team of Academic Support Officers and Research Coordinators, ensuring the delivery of exceptional teaching and research support across the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film & Education.

In this pivotal role, you'll:

•    Lead and inspire a high-performing team.

•    Drive service excellence with a customer-focused approach.

•    Streamline processes and implement innovative solutions.

•    Collaborate across the University on strategic initiatives.

You'll bring proven leadership and operational management experience, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex policies with ease. Your expertise in administration, financial management, and systems will help ensure our academic and research support is second to none.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:


•    Senior administrative experience, including planning, creativity, and team management.

•    Experience in research administration would be an advantage

•    Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.

•    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

•    Skilled in analysing problems and communicating complex information clearly.

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.

•    Experience in financial administration and budgeting.

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office, data management systems, and databases.

•    Strong writing skills for reports, policies, presentations, and minutes.

Qualifications

A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
