About the role
Are you an experienced forklift operator with a passion for safety, precision, and hands-on work? Join Riverina's Oakey team as an Export Packer and play a vital role in supporting our high-volume grain export operations.
As an Export Packer, you'll be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient packing and dispatch of grain and other bulk commodities for export. This physically demanding role involves container handling, heavy forklift operation, and maintaining site flow in a busy and dynamic environment. Working closely with the Site Manager and operations team, you'll help coordinate containerised grain exports from start to finish—ensuring high standards in quality, safety, and productivity every step of the way.
Your key responsibilities:
- Operate heavy forklifts to safely lift and load 20ft and 40ft containers on unsealed yard surfaces
- Pack export containers with bulk grain products to specification and shipping instructions
- Perform container inspections and quality control checks prior to dispatch
- Monitor and document container weights and load distribution for compliance
- Maintain accurate load records and export documentation
- Collaborate with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure timely dispatch
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
- Support stock control, inventory checks, and general site operations
- Adhere to all site safety procedures and reporting requirements
What We're Looking For:
- Current and valid Reach Stacker (RS) and Forklift Licence (LF)
- Proven experience operating heavy forklifts (8+ tonne), including container loading on unsealed surfaces
- Experience in high-volume export, dispatch, or bulk commodity environments (grain experience highly regarded)
- Sound knowledge of load restraint and safe container loading practices
- Physically fit with the ability to perform repetitive manual handling
- High attention to detail and strong safety mindset
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Clear communication and a strong team attitude
