Provide support services including Student Counselling, Access and Inclusion, and Student Advocacy for all CDU students.
About the Position
As an Access & Inclusion Advisor you will provide support services to ensure that prospective and current students with disability, health condition, caregiving responsibilities, and/or have something extenuating impacting their study, are afforded appropriate opportunities to enter and participate fully in their CDU experience. You will provide advice and information to staff and students regarding university policy, procedures, and relevant legislation as they relate to access and inclusion and will participate in the promotion and implementation of the Elite Athlete Program, which supports elite athletes to balance their elite sporting career and studies at CDU. You will also play an active role in student engagement and community building at the Sydney campus, undertaking outreach activities, maintaining inclusive resources, and collaborating with the Student Support team to develop and deliver workshops and initiatives that promote accessibility, equity, and inclusion across the campus.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- A degree with subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and/or experience in working with people with disabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret relevant Federal and Territory legislation in relation to an educational context. Demonstrated ability to work within legislative, policy and procedural frameworks, including the ability to provide input into the development and an appropriate implementation of these frameworks.
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to work in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and within a small team environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency at word processing, electronic information management systems and databases and the ability to use those programs to source and coordinate information.
- A sound knowledge of the University's Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principals and demonstrated ability to implement policies and procedures in this regard
Additional Key Selection Criteria at Level 7
- A relevant tertiary degree with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience in Disability.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government policies, programs and initiatives about people with disabilities, and the ability to interpret and ensure compliance with Federal and Territory legislation relevant to people with disabilities to an educational context.
- Proven commitment to continuous improvement of operations and the ability to lead and adapt positively to change.
- Ability to make evidence-based decisions in complex student cases, particularly in cases of reasonable adjustments and to communicate these decisions and their rationale effectively to stakeholders.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Level 6/7 and the base salary will be in the range $86,629 to $102,606 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $101,355 to $120,049 per annum including 17% superannuation.
