SHV Wholesalers services the retail and hospitality industries with fresh produce daily. To be successful, you must have a forklift license and it would be beneficial if you have a medium rigid truck license (but not essential). This position has the following duties:

Packing Customer Orders

· In conjunction with the Operations Manager and the warehouse team ensure orders are packed accurately and on time for dispatch.

Downstairs Warehouse

· Maintain the cleanliness of cool rooms, the warehouse floorand the benches and fridge.

· Ensure there are no open cartons in cool rooms by transferring any open cartons to the warehouse bench and fridge and used first before other cartons in cool rooms are opened.

· Assist the Operations Manager to ensure wastage is kept to an acceptable minimum.

  • Ensure all wastage is recorded.

  • Ensure all downstairs cool room stock is rotated correctly and replenished for the next day's trade.

Drivers

· In consultation with the Logistics Supervisor and the Operations manager, assist with the co-ordination of deliveries.

· If required, sign drivers out on their delivery runs ensuring they have all their paperwork, stock and any out-going pallets are recorded.

· If required, sign off drivers when they return from their runs.

· Check drivers' trucks are free from rubbish inside the cab and inside the back of their trucks,

· Check drivers' trucks for any damage, and

· In conjunction with the Operations Manager, ensure all pallets have been returned to the warehouse.

· Assist the Operations Manager to ensure drivers adhere to company policies and procedures.

Traffic and Parking

· Ensure all trucks are parked inside the warehouse and not over the footpath.

· Ensure two bays are free all the time for customers.

· If parking reserved for the trucks (less the 2 bays reserved) is taken, ensure the remaining trucks are parked on the street (not over our driveway or footpath) and do not exceed council parking restrictions whilst they are parked on the street.

Manage Customer Service

· Attend to in-store customers to according to the Customer Service Policy.

· Ensure customers have an experienced customer service staff member allocated to them as soon as possible to serve them accurately and efficiently.

· Where possible ensure in-store customers enter cool rooms to serve themselves.

OH&S

· Work within appropriate safety guidelines and report injuries or unsafe conditions.

· Ensure your compliance with health and safety requirements.

Additional

· Other duties and responsibilities as required within the skills, knowledge and capabilities of the employee

  • Higher duties when Operations Manager is away - Allowance paid
  • 8am starts, finishing around 4:30 Tuesday to Saturday
