We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and committed Enrolled Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Medical Centre. We are a well-established, privately owned and busy General Practice in Cairns that prides itself on providing high quality care to our community.

About the role

The Practice Nurse provides clinical support to our Practitioners and Specialist, helping the doctor manage their workload safely and effectively.  You will be responsible for the management of the patients needs as directed by practitioners.  This can include:

• Chronic Disease Management including Care Plans, Health Assessments & Diabetes Cycle of Care
• Immunisations & Vaccinations
• ECG's & Spirometry
• Wound care/dressings
• Assisting doctors with minor surgical procedures
• Daily co-ordination of the treatment room, stock control and medical equipment maintenance
• Implementing and practicing infection control as per Accreditation Standards
• Assisting in skin excision procedures

Skills and experience

Role could suit a newly graduating EN with some experience or placements in a GP setting, but experience as a GP Nurse desirable.  PAP and Immunisation Endorsements also of benefit.  This role would suit an experienced Industrial/Occupational Medicine nurse looking to expand their clinical scope into General Practice.

• APHRA Registration
• Valid working rights within Australia
• General Practice experience preferred
• Best Practice Software experience preferred
• Current CPR/First Aid certificate
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Caring & collaborative approach to patient care
• Proven multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
