We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Robotics Engineer to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the design, development, and integration of robotic systems that interface with our cutting-edge foundation models. You will be instrumental in bringing our AI to life, ensuring seamless communication and robust performance in our humanoid robotic platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software for controlling and operating humanoid robots, focusing on integration with large-scale AI models.
- Work closely with AI/ML researchers to translate foundation model outputs into actionable robotic behaviors and movements.
- Develop and maintain robust communication protocols and APIs between the robotic hardware and the AI software stack.
- Contribute to the selection, evaluation, and integration of various robotic sensors, actuators, and computing platforms.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for robot perception, navigation, manipulation, and human-robot interaction.
- Conduct extensive testing, debugging, and performance optimization of robotic systems in both simulated and real-world environments.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of robotic components.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotics, AI, and related fields, contributing to the company's intellectual property.
- Document designs, implementations, and testing procedures thoroughly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (X+ years, specify as appropriate) in robotics software development, particularly with complex robotic systems.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python are essential.
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar frameworks.
- Solid understanding of robotic kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and sensor fusion.
- Familiarity with common robotic sensors (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs) and actuators.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application in robotics is highly desirable.
- Experience with simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, MuJoCo, Isaac Sim) for robotics development and testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience with humanoid robot platforms.
- Prior work on large-scale AI models or foundation models.
- Contributions to open-source robotics projects.
- Experience with real-time perception algorithms (e.g., SLAM, object detection/tracking).
- Understanding of ethical considerations in AI and robotics.
