North Sydney Council, Australia Shore Full time $100,000 - $120,000 per year

Shore is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School, emphasising excellence in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits and fostering integrity in moral and spiritual development in a Christian environment. Shore's rich history and traditions have powerfully shaped the School, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Shore is on an exciting journey as a candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), and we're looking for an inspiring leader to help guide the way. As the PYP Coordinator / Head of Teaching and Learning (K–6), you will play a key leadership role in driving innovation and excellence in teaching and learning across Kindergarten to Year 6.

This role combines strategic oversight of curriculum development, professional learning, and the integration of IB philosophy with NESA requirements. As a member of the Preparatory School Executive, you'll help shape a dynamic, future-focused learning environment where both students and teachers thrive.

To be successful, you will:
  • Champion the rollout of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) across K–6, leading Shore through authorisation and shaping a vibrant, inquiry-based curriculum.
  • Inspire curiosity and a love of learning by building a collaborative, forward-thinking teaching culture grounded in IB principles and NESA requirements.
  • Drive exciting curriculum design that connects big ideas with real-world learning, ensuring every student is challenged, supported, and seen.
  • Lead purposeful professional learning that energises staff, sparks innovation, and supports consistent, high-quality teaching practice.
  • Support and empower teachers through meaningful coaching, collaborative planning, and reflective practice to ensure engaging and consistent learning experiences across the School.
  • Bring assessment to life through meaningful student-led conferences, portfolios, and the all-important PYP Exhibition.
  • Collaborate with the Preparatory School Executive to turn big-picture goals into real, lasting improvements for students and staff.
  • Build strong connections with families and the wider School community through clear communication, engaging curriculum events, and a shared commitment to student growth.
Shore offers competitive remuneration and benefits for the right person, a collegiate and energetic working environment focused on pursuing excellence, and a culture where your leadership and team management will be respected.

This is a rare opportunity to lead with purpose and help shape the educational journey of every child at Shore Preparatory School. Join us as we embrace the IB Primary Years Programme and create a learning environment where curiosity is nurtured, excellence is pursued, and each student is known and valued.
