About the Role

Under close supervision from industry professionals, this position undertakes a competency-based traineeship to develop a range of skills in vocational education and training. The Learning & Development Trainee supports the planning, delivery, and assessment of training programs within Council. Through practical experience and formal study toward the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, this position will learn to facilitate group-based learning, assess competency, and contribute to continuous improvement in training practices. This position plays a key part in building capability across the organisation by supporting learning initiatives that meet both individual and organisational development needs.

This position will complete a 2-year Certificate IV in Training and Assessment online through TAFE Queensland. For more information on the qualification through TAFE, please follow the below link;

This position will commence in February 2026.

About You

In an ideal applicant, we are looking for:

• Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics.
• Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain).
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Willingness to undertake the requirements to successfully complete the associated qualification.
