This role is based at Perisher, the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, located in the beautiful Snowy Mountains region of South-Eastern NSW and just a two-hour drive from Canberra and the Far South Coast. Perisher is part of Vail Resorts who own and operate ski areas including iconic resorts including Falls Creek and Hotham in Australia as well as Park City, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb and Vail in North America.
As the Skitube Mechanical Supervisor, you will effectively and efficiently supervise the human and other resources available with the goal of ensuring Skitube mechanical maintenance activities, inclusive of all rolling stock and other associated infrastructure are properly carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Safety Environmental Management System (SEMS), relevant safety legislation, company policy, procedures and instructions and other industrial laws and/or regulations. In a typical day in this role, you might:
- Accurately process Maintenance Work Orders and Templates as required ensuring all maintenance and or inspection documentation is properly authorised, completed and filed
- Liaise with the Skitube Maintenance Manager and the Skitube Electrical Supervisor to work together to ensure that all maintenance is scheduled and completed in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
- Lead, motivate and effectively supervise all maintenance staff and contractors.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent as a minimum (or willingness to attain).
- Certificate of Competency in relevant Rail Safety Work disciplines including rolling stock and track (or willingness to attain).
- A trade certification in a mechanical field (and preferably welding experience)
- Experience in a railway environment
