This role is based in our South Hobart office, with flexibility for full-time or part-time arrangements.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and develop a small finance team to deliver excellent service across the organisation.
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly accounting process and finance functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
- Prepare accurate financial reports for the CEO, Board, and Service Managers
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing clear recommendations for improvement.
- Administer finance systems and ensure compliance with accounting policies and delegation limits.
- Foster a culture of wellbeing, safety, accountability and professionalism, modelling the LGT Code of Conduct.
- Contribute to projects and improvement initiatives as a member of the organisational leadership group.
What you'll bring:
- Tertiary qualification in business (or similar)
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).
- 3+ years' experience in a senior finance role with proven people leadership experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate financial insights and concepts clearly to support decision-making.
- Proven capability as a super-user of finance systems, with prior experience in Wiise (Microsoft Business Central), SAP Concur, Xap or Access Micropay highly regarded.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (child-related activity) and recent National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
What you'll receive:
At Lady Gowrie Tasmania, we recognise that looking after our people is just as important as looking after the children and families we serve. We offer a range of benefits designed to support your career, wellbeing, and work–life balance:
Wellbeing & Lifestyle Support
- Flexible working arrangements to suit your needs, including part-time options.
- In-house Wellbeing Manager and wellbeing initiatives and events to foster health, connection and balance.

- A genuine commitment to staff wellbeing — creating a workplace where you feel supported, valued, and able to thrive.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family, providing confidential counselling and support.
Financial & Career Support
- Competitive salary with salary packaging options up to $18,550 to maximise your take-home pay by paying less tax.
- 15% discount on education and care fees for your children attending our services.
- Professional development opportunities, supported by an experienced and engaged CFO.
