Essence of the position:
 

We have begun the search for our Sous Chef. Our Bar and Grill opening in Kingpin Melbourne (Dec 2025) will feature a state-of-the-art open kitchen including a Josper Grill and pizza oven. Some of your key areas of responsibility will be:  

• Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, supporting the management team with stocktake where required and ordering, rostering duties
• Support the execution of Group and Corporate events, working with your stakeholders to deliver on best outcomes
• Becoming a champion of safety both inside and outside our kitchen
• Train and develop your team to ensure they have every opportunity to grow their careers
• Enthusiastically drive and implement and new menus and Food and Beverage promotions

Key Attributes and Capabilities:
 

Putting people neatly into boxes, isn't really our style, but there are a few key factors that will be really important when it comes to selecting the right candidate for this position:  

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in high volume restaurants or premium casual dining environment
• A hands-on chef who is able to multi-task and prioritise
• Strong understanding of food safety principles, particularly allergen and dietary management, + regulatory compliance requirements
• Experience in working across large scale events and functions
