Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be responsible for:

Operational Management:

Supervise and coordinate the daily rental operations of cranes, heavy transport, lifting equipment, and related machinery.

Ensure optimal fleet utilization, maintenance schedules, cost controls and downtime reduction.

Oversee logistics, scheduling, and deployment of equipment & manpower to client sites.

Enforce compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.

Adopt a hands-on approach to managing Quality, Health, Environment and Safety at all levels of the business.

Strategic Leadership & Business Development:

Develop and execute strategies to expand client base, maximise geographic penetration, and increase market share.

Negotiate rental contracts, pricing models, and service agreements with key customers.

Maintain strong relationships with contractors, EPC companies, infrastructure developers, and industrial clients.

Lead and nurture key account management with strategically important customers and suppliers.

Identify new business opportunities in construction, oil & gas, power, and infrastructure sector

Financial & Commercial Control

Monitor revenue, operating costs, and profitability.

Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.

Ensure timely billing, collection, and adherence to financial targets.

Optimize procurement and vendor management for spare parts, fuel, and support services

Team Leadership & HR

Lead, mentor, and motivate operations staff, drivers, riggers, and technical teams.

Recruit and train staff for safe handling, operation, and maintenance of heavy equipment.

Implement performance management systems to improve workforce efficiency.

General Duties:

Support the GM in business expansion, fleet modernization, and diversification strategies.

Contribute to technology adoption such as ERP (SAP), fleet management software, GPS tracking, and predictive maintenance tools.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Ensure the company operates with strong internal governance and compliance with laws and regulations

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, principals, partners, investors, and government entities.

Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and forums.

Leading and developing a multicultural team of skilled operators, technicians and support staff providing guidance, training, and performance management.

Leading from the front in HSEQ, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Identifying opportunities for growth, whilst directing a dedicated sales team.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred)

For the right candidate, relevant proven experience may substitute academic qualification, provided the candidate is willing to engage in professional development.

Experience: 12–18 years of experience in crane rental, equipment leasing, construction equipment management, or related industries.

Skills:

Leadership & People Management Skills

Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability

Excellent client facing negotiation skills

Proficiency in Fleet Management Systems, ERP systems, and other relevant technologies. Preferably with SAP experience.

Financial & Analytical Skills

Ability to work independently, make strategic decisions, and solve complex problems.
