Position Title: Chef

Salary Range: $74,000 to $80,000

Location: Lenox Avenue, Shop 9 10/12 Coromandel Parade, Blackwood SA 5051

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and energetic Chef to join our team at Lenox Avenue, Shop 9 10/12 Coromandel Parade, Blackwood SA 5051. Your culinary expertise will ensure that every meal is a delightful experience, tailored to individual preferences and upholding the highest food safety standards.

Position Description:

• Full kitchen role with involvement in menu preparation, budgets, stock management, ordering and receiving of supplies.
• Preparing, cooking, and seasoning food and monitoring quality of dishes at stages of preparation
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes
• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
• Following health and safety requirements and enforcing hygiene regulations.
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Train new staff and collaborate with other team members
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment including freezing and preserving food

To be considered for this role, you should:

• Hold an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management
• Have at least 3 years of full time work experience working as a chef in a fast paced environment
• Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
• Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be able to work in a fast paced environment; multitask and handle stress
• Be able to commit beyond normal working hours as and when required.
