ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to sustained growth we are looking for an additional Painter to support the team in our CASA approved paint shop.  We pride ourselves on high quality finishes and see safety as a priority, you will work with only the best practice safety equipment.  On a day to day basis the Painter will;

  • End to end Aircraft Painting:  cleaning panels, surface preparation, sanding, body filler application, final panel preparation, priming, painting, and vinyl decal application.
  • Exterior Aircraft Care: washing, cleaning, polishing and detailing.
  • Completion of small ad-hoc cleaning and painting projects as identified by our Engineers, to support the longevity of the fleet.
  • Work to prescribed product specifications and instructions, providing feedback to other team members for the purpose of continuous improvement.
  • Support the efficiency of the paint shop through timely replenishment of consumables and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Overtime is available, however not mandated.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • An Australian recognised qualification as a Spray Painter, Aircraft Surface Finisher or equivalent.
  • Compliance with surface finish process specifications and work order specifications.
  • Experience in following data sheet instructions and working with other team members who may provide critical instructions.
  • Experience in spray painting onto various substrate materials in a high-quality environment.
  • Preparation and painting of final assembled and detailed parts.
  • Use of both hand and pneumatic paint process tools.
  • Complete preparation processes for painting of composite products.
  • Competent with body filler and blocking techniques.
  • Experience with spraying epoxies, 2 pac (especially polyurethanes), and clear over base systems.
  • Experience with polishing using electric buffs.
  • Demonstrated pride in producing a high standard of work with exemplary attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of CASA regulations would be an advantage.
