About the role

The Team Leader, Travelling Stock Reserves (TSR), manages a keen and committed team to oversee public land for the benefit of the Northern Tablelands community. The Team Leader develops and delivers agricultural productivity, natural resource management, cultural and stakeholder programs. They are a key member of the Northern Tablelands LLS leadership team, contribute to strategic planning, manage TSR operations, assist with biosecurity projects, support in emergencies, and much more.

We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Lead, motivate and inspire the Travelling Stock Reserves team to deliver on ground outcomes
  • Develop and implement policies and guidelines to ensure that decisions and activities comply with relevant legislation, Government, Corporate and LLS priorities.
  • Ensure that on ground and planning outcomes are consistent with agreed priorities, plans, standards.
  • Engage with and maintain stakeholder involvement in LLS activities and share information.
  • Encourage and inform a partnership approach to improve change in local management of natural resources and agricultural productivity.
  • Coordinate and influence teams to work together with a range of external and internal stakeholders to achieve natural resource management and agricultural outcomes.
  • Balance and manage a range of competing and conflicting priorities in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Assist with biosecurity projects and support emergency management and natural disaster responses.
  • Ensure that the impacts of environmental, social and economic issues are considered and reflected in project outcome decisions.

About You

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven leadership skills
  • The ability to encourage and promote your team whilst being able to critically review program effectiveness and implement problem solving and innovation processes
  • Be an effective communicator with the ability to engage and develop your team members, and to engage with a variety of stakeholders
  • The ability to manage projects and contracts and negotiate, facilitate, problem-solve and moderate in a variable and fast-moving environment.
  • Finance/budget/forecasting skills
