About the position...

In partnership with First Nations Healing, KWY is delivering the Stronger, Safer, Families Hubs Program – a culturally safe, whole-of-family healing and recovery program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.

The Women's Practitioner plays a key role in providing intensive, therapeutic and culturally grounded case management support to Aboriginal women in the program. Working in partnership with the family, the practitioner offers advocacy, cultural support, risk assessment, safety planning, and healing-focused interventions to empower women and strengthen family functioning. Full Time (1 FTE) and 12 Months Contract.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Provide complex case management and therapeutic support using a trauma-informed, culturally safe framework.
  • Walk alongside Aboriginal women, building trust, promoting empowerment, and supporting healing and recovery.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety planning in collaboration with families and service partners.
  • Provide advocacy, cultural support, and facilitate access to services and referrals.
  • Support women's understanding of the impact of domestic, family and sexual violence on children and family dynamics.
  • Work closely with other team members and stakeholders to deliver coordinated, wraparound support.

About you...

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in delivering complex case management, trauma-informed and culturally responsive support to Aboriginal families, and be committed to cultural healing, self-determination and strengths-based practice. They applicant will possess a strong understanding of the impacts of domestic, family and sexual violence from a trauma-informed lens, knowledge of the child protection system and family safety principles.

  • Competitive salary: $ 100,776 to $ 105,340 (range dependent on experience and qualifications). Classification under the SCHADS Award (SCHADS 5)

Job requirements...

  • You must hold a current South Australian Driver's License or a license which permits you to drive in South Australia.
  • Successful candidates will be required to clear and maintain probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), Working with Vulnerable People Check and Working with Children Check (applicants need to hold a current WWCC to apply).
