Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Estimator, based in Ferntree Gully, VIC.

• Identify and prepare estimates for civil construction projects
• Review project plans and contractual documents to ensure accurate pricing and compliance with specifications
• Completing quantity take-offs
• Request quotations for specific work from contractors, suppliers and subcontractors
• Review construction documentation to ensure there are no errors
• Liaise with the management staff to ensure accurate cost estimation and Tender Evaluation.
• Analyze labour, material and time requirements for each project
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form
• Sound computer literacy
• Problem solving - deductive reasoning and analytical thinking
• Strong contract negotiation skills
• Build new and maintain existing relationships with contractors and suppliers
• Preparing detailed estimates, cost schedules, and tender submissions
• Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends
• Assist with preparation of handover documentation
• Site inspections

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating bulk earthworks, pavements, roads, carparks, drainage, concrete, retaining walls and foundations.
• Tertiary qualifications in Estimating, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar preferable.
• Experience using Mudshark, Kubla Cubed & Bluebeam software preferred
• Current Drivers License
• Proficiency in cost estimation, project analysis, and budget preparation within the construction or civil engineering sector
• Previous experience in estimating within civil infrastructure or construction industries is highly regarded
