About us

High Street Underwriting Agency are looking to hire a skilled QA Engineer to join our in-house development team, located in either Brisbane CBD, or Brendale in Brisbane's north. HSUA currently operates a hybrid working environment, with a minimum of 3 days per week in-office.

HSUA is a fun, family-run insurance underwriter invested heavily in insurance tech to push boundaries and modernise the industry. Our in-house IT department works directly with our business leaders across all departments to keep our custom-built Insurance Portal ahead of the game, servicing insurance brokers across Australia.

What you'll do:
  • Perform manual and regression testing as part of the software delivery lifecycle
  • Contribute to QA process improvements and provide feedback to enhance efficiency.
  • Help implement and update requirements and testing documentation to ensure tests are comprehensive
  • Coordinate with developers to support timely, stable releases
  • Help prepare test environments and gather test data
  • Learn and contribute to test automation
What we're looking for:
  • At least 3 years of QA experience, ideally in an insurance, fintech, or compliance-heavy environment
  • An understanding of test case design, positive/negative testing, and edge case handling
  • A minimum foundational programming knowledge in PHP and JavaScript
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills to liaise and collaborate with team members, department heads and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with a GIT-based workflow
  • Willingness to learn automated testing frameworks over time
