ABOUT THE ROLE

Mentone Grammar is seeking a Head of Sport - Girls, full-time, fixed term (1.0 FTE) for 2026 to ensure a strong and rigorous sporting program and culture in instilled across our School. This role will support our Director of Sport to deliver the 5-year strategic vision of the sporting program.

Sport has an integral role at Mentone Grammar where all students are provided with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting endeavours. The successful candidate will inspire our young people to pursue their sporting interest and develop their skills, ability and wellbeing to a high level. You will also oversee all operational aspects of the Girls Sports Program including coaching, across the school supporting students to participate in our Saturday sport program and associated activities.

Due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement to work outside of normal working hours including evenings and weekends.

About you:

  • Ability to oversee the logistics of an expansive school sports program
  • A strong commitment to, and understanding of, the importance of school sport (both competitive and recreational) in the development and education of school students
  • Effective leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience in the recruitment, induction, mentoring and performance management of sports staff
  • Commitment to continued professional and personal development of self and coaches
  • An ability to develop positive, empathetic, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • A flexible attitude and ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing school environment
  • Current Employee Working With Children Clearance
