We are seeking Disability Support Workers in Hawthorn, Victoria.

Desirable:

– Proven or lived experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role

– Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, a related field, or ability to obtain

– Manual handling training

– Knowledge and understanding of disability support principles, policies, and practices.

Varying shifts to choose from Monday to Sunday.

7am to 4.00pm

3.45pm to 7.15am (including sleepover)

11.30am to 3.30pm

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Providing hands-on support and care to individuals with physical and neurological disabilities.

– Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks.

– Promoting independence and facilitating community participation.

– Following personalised care plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.

– Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support.

– Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided and reporting any changes in individual's needs.

– Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to guarantee a safe working environment for yourself and the people we support.

You must have or have the ability to obtain:

– First Aid and CPR certification.

– NDIS Worker Screening Check

– Police Check

– Working with Children's Check

– Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other stakeholders.

– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with the people we support.

– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in challenging situations.

– Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
