About the Role
As an experienced Residential Care Youth Worker, you will support young people who are facing complex life situations. You will provide them with a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, helping to develop the skills and resilience needed to lead healthy and productive lives.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the young people in your care feel safe, supported, and valued
Foster positive relationships with young people, their families, and the community
Assist in the development of social, emotional, and life skills
Support young people in making healthy choices and accessing appropriate healthcare
Work collaboratively with a therapeutic care team to implement tailored care plans
Maintain a clean, safe, and structured home environment
Manage daily tasks, including written and verbal reports, case notes, and documentation as required
Mandatory Requirements
Relevant experience in Youth Work, Child Safety, or a related field
Current Unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards, with the commitment to complete within 12 months of your employment start date)
Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
Availability for shift work including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as rostered
Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
Current Hope and Healing (or willingness to obtain it)
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain it)

You should be adaptable, patient, and ready to take on challenges as you guide young people toward better futures.

Experience in providing residential or therapeutic care for at-risk youth
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trust
The ability to manage challenging behaviours and complex needs
A commitment to creating safe, positive environments for young people
Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
