About the role

Endeavour College is seeking to appoint an Educational Support Officer to support with Science and Mathematics' subjects, commencing at the start of the 2026 School year.

This position will work closely and cooperatively with teaching staff to provide support for student learning in classroom, small groups, and one-to-one settings under the direction of the Inclusive Education Coordinator and Classroom Teachers. Work will be predominantly with students that require additional learning support and/or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) and will also have a strong focus on assisting with the implementation of our social emotional program.

About you

We envision a well-rounded individual who is experienced and passionate about working with neurodiverse and other students with specific learning needs (Years 7-12) as they progress through their secondary education. Relevant theoretical knowledge of specific learning disabilities (i.e. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dysgraphia, Dyslexia) and their implications for approaches to learning, the ability to work with students in both small groups and one-on-one, along with the ability to support learning across a range of areas including numeracy, literacy and EALD.

You will have the following mandatory requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (i.e. Certificate III (or above) in Education Support and/or English Additional Language Dialect (EALD)) and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Teaching training, qualified teacher or Educational Support Officer with experience in Secondary School.
  • Hold a current clearance to work with children (Working With Children Check (WWCC)) and Mandatory Notification Training Certificate.
  • Experience and/or ability to work with neurodiverse students to support learning across a range of areas including numeracy, literacy and EALD.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), enabling effective interaction with both adults and students using diplomacy, discretion and tact as required in a professional work environment.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise work to achieve outcomes within required deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently & as part of a team to improve learning outcomes for students, contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of learning and curriculum activities.
  • Motivation and a passion to work with and support young people on their journey through secondary education.
  • Ability and desire to actively support the values and ethos of a Christian school.
  • A practicing Christian, with the ability to relate the Gospel message to their role within the College, and encourage a spirit of Christian care amongst staff and students (highly desirable)
