SAIC is seeking a Facilities Engineer with expertise in electrical systems to support the mission in Alice Springs, AU.  This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph or the ability to obtain one.

This SAIC program provides full-service facility management support to a major United States Government (USG) organization. We conduct end-to-end project management and facility engineering functions for locations throughout the world. 

The ideal candidate serves as an interface between the USG facilities management organization, design and construction contractors, Site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contractor, local utilities, and all other customers and stakeholders on matters related to customer requirements, project prioritization, and execution. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the project life cycle to include requirements development, design, construction, and closeout.  The candidate will focus on the construction, recapitalization, and planning of electrical systems as well as other types of projects.  The candidate will:

Act as the facilities liaison, reporting to and coordinating with USG representatives at all organizational levelsOversee the Site O&M support contractor and A/E during project execution to ensure that customer requirements are accomplished on time, to the specified quality, and within budgetReview and provide comments on project proposalsPlan, monitor, coordinate, and execute complex electrical tasksDevelop and manage electrical project plans, conduct design reviews, and coordinate project approvalsDevelop status reports, project schedules, and cost estimatesSupervise, plan, and actively participate in Factory Acceptance Testing; andParticipate in root cause analysis following an electrical anomalyActive TS/SCI clearance with Poly or the ability to obtain oneA minimum of 10 years of experience with facility operations, specifically with electrical systems  A bachelor's degree in an engineering or architectural fieldBasic knowledge and understanding of the government organization and method of conducting businessKnowledge of facility operations & maintenance activities and proceduresExperience related to low and medium voltage power distribution systems in commercial and/or industrial facilitiesAbility to estimate and produce a rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for facility project planning and programmingAbility to manage multiple and competing resourcesDemonstrated project management skills associated with managing performance, budget, and schedulesExcellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to team with industry partners.

Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in an engineering or architectural fieldUnderstanding of ICS/SCADA systems and electronic controls, energy monitoring and control systems (EMCS)Understanding of quality management principles to include quality assurance and quality controlKnowledge of federal, state and local building and safety codes
