Mandatory Requirements

·   Familiarity with medical terminology

·   Computer and keyboard skills

·    Typing and Word processing skills

·    High level of organisational and time management skills

·    Ability to assess and prioritise workload within an environment of competing demands

·    Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, relatives and staff

·    Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to enter data when required in a timely manner

·    Valid Police Check

·    Current Working with Children's Check

·    Healthcare to whom the mandatory vaccination (influenza vaccination) directions apply, will be required to be vaccinated annually

DESIRABLE:

·   Ability to use hospital-based software

·    Willingness to seek advice from peers

·    Ability to use the phone system, photocopier and fax machines

·    Available for all shifts; am pm night shift and public holidays

·    Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team

·    Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
