About the role:

As a Category Manager – Indirect Materials/Key Suppliers, you will play a key role in shaping our procurement strategy, ensuring Rawson Group get the best value from our key suppliers while meeting business needs. You will lead discussions and negotiations with all of our suppliers to ensure the correct products are available, at the right price driving business savings and cost avoidance. You'll do this by developing and implementing category plans and negotiating contracts. Key to this is establishing and building upon strong relationships with stakeholders to drive efficiency and cost savings. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing spend in the indirect categories across the business
  • Work effectively with Procurement Manager to develop and implement category management strategies across Master BOQ headings in order to deliver best value outcomes
  • Implement structured agreements with supply chain covering pricing, service levels and specification
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of regional supply chains 
  • Negotiate and finalise terms of supplier's agreements
  • Review margin and ETS reports and assist in the implementation of initiatives to reduce costs and margin erosion
  • Assist with developing product and pricing information for promotional activities
  • Assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of standard upgrade lists
  • Develop, manage and maintain professional relationships with supply chain
  • Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders including Estimating, Finance, Selections Consultants, Drafting and Construction Teams.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Building/Construction or similar

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, personal presentational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent process review and mapping skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Sales Experience/background (desirable)
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite as well as other programs
