The Company
Our client is one of the largest Australian owned distributors of construction equipment with a national dealer network boasting over 20 branches Australia wide providing new and used sales as well as machinery hire to the construction, mining and forestry industries. They are authorised dealers for over 10 major OEM brands including ASV Posi-Track, JCB, XCMG, Develon and Fecon stocking a wide range of machinery from excavators, loaders, skid steers, material handling and graders.
Due to significant growth at our clients Hexham dealership, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Service Advisor to join their team.
About the Role
In this key front-line position, you'll be the vital link between our customers and the workshop team — ensuring that equipment servicing and repairs are scheduled, communicated, and completed efficiently, all while delivering exceptional customer care.
What You'll Do
- Be the first point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Book and schedule service jobs, coordinating workflow with workshop staff
- Clearly explain service requirements, costs, and timelines to customers
- Process warranty claims and product improvement documentation
- Order and manage parts inventory related to service jobs
- Conduct road tests or assist with light mechanical tasks when needed
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and invoicing
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and empathy
- Recommend preventative maintenance options and service upgrades
- Assist management with additional tasks as required
What You'll Bring

- Basic mechanical understanding (experience with machinery or vehicles advantageous)

The Candidate
Ideally, we are looking for an experienced candidate who has previous industry exposure as a "Service Advisor" or similar at a Dealership / large workshop with at least 2 years' experience. Possessing a good mechanical aptitude with attention to detail will be highly regarded.
Focus on customer service is crucial as you will be one of their organisation's representatives requiring a high level of professionalism with both clients and staff. Being proficient in computers and being able to pick up and navigate parts, scheduling and equipment software is highly desirable. You will also be utilising computers as one of your main business tools for communications and organisation. Candidates that are extremely organised, can cope with tight deadlines and are able to multitask within a dynamic work environment are highly desirable.
Please Note: It is essential that the successful candidate is able and motivated to work across all areas of the business as required. A valid NSW driver's license is also essential.
Remuneration
A competitive salary package is available, depending on experience the salary package will be between;
- 70 – 80k
- + Super
- Working Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30am – 4pm
