About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Adviser to join our People & Culture team. This standalone, hands-on role is pivotal in ensuring the health and safety of our staff, students, and visitors across all three campuses: Indooroopilly, Springfield, and Ironbark. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the College's health and safety function, promoting a positive risk culture, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the College's health and safety system, policies, and procedures.

• Develop and deliver annual health and safety training programs for staff.

• Provide strategic guidance to staff and leadership teams.

• Promote a centralised and best practice approach to embed health and safety across all operations.

• Collaborate with staff to identify hazards, risks, and areas for improvement.

• Establish and maintain a robust health and safety reporting system.

• Ensure compliance with applicable work health and safety legislation.

• Manage day-to-day administration relevant to the role.

What You Bring

• A relevant tertiary degree qualification in workplace health and safety or a related discipline, and/or extensive relevant work experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of WHS Act, Regulations, and relevant governing bodies.

• Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of risk management principles, health and safety trends, and incident investigation methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Highly developed organisational and time management skills.

• Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.
