About the role

We're seeking Casual Phlebotomists to support project-based health screening programs across Queensland. Engagements may include travel throughout QLD, confirmed and agreed prior to each individual engagement. You'll work at client worksites or from our mobile medical clinics, collaborating with nurses, doctors and coordinators to provide safe, efficient and compassionate blood collection.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture to a high clinical standard (adult populations; occasional challenging draws).
  • Correctly identify patients, obtain consent and maintain meticulous labelling and documentation.
  • Prepare, manage and package pathology specimens for courier / transport in line with guidelines.
  • Maintain stock, cleanliness and equipment QA, assisting with clinic set-up/pack-down in mobile environments.
  • Use electronic practice and collection systems accurately; follow policies regarding infection prevention and WHS requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and excellent client experience at worksites and in the field.

Skills and experience
  • Training / Certificate in Pathology Collection
  • Recent phlebotomy experience in Australia (worksite, community, hospital or mobile setting)
  • Strong specimen handling, labelling accuracy and documentation
  • Friendly, professional disposition, ability to greet clients (workers) warmly and create a positive, welcoming experience
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver's licence (preferred) and comfort working in mobile/field environments
  • Digital literacy with clinical / collection systems
  • Right to Work in Australia
