Experienced Solar Trade Assistant

We're looking for a couple of experienced Trade Assistants with a background in roofing and/or solar panel installation to join our growing residential installation teams. We like to do our jobs once and do them well, so if you have a strong focus on safety and workmanship you are 100% our person.

As a successful candidate, you:

• Have already worked in the solar industry or as a roofer previously
• Have a valid driver's license
• Hold a valid Working at Heights certification and ideally also a White Card
• Might have an EWP Ticket (however, not essential)
• Have a solid foundation of trade skills (including a familiarity with various roofing materials and techniques) and an appetite to adapt to new technology and processes
• Have a professional attitude but are friendly with the ability to laugh and enjoy working with a great team.
• Are willing to work away for some projects on an irregular basis

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant within our residential team, you will be responsible daily for a range of tasks that support end-to-end solar and battery system installations for our customers, in a safe and compliant manner. This includes:

• Collection of stock from our warehouse in Pinkenba or our local suppliers and transporting it to site.
• Roof preparation and maintenance.
• Installation of components on site, including panels, inverters, batteries, cabling, roof racking and conduits.
• Collaboration with our electricians and other team members to ensure proper wiring and electrical connections of solar panels.
• System commissioning and quality inspections to confirm the integrity and functionality of the installed system.
• Friendly and professional engagement with customers throughout the installation, particularly with support to set up their system and help them understand how to use it.
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area with proper disposal of waste materials.
