Children's Minister

Christ Church St Ives is seeking a full-time Children's Minister who has an infectious love for Jesus, is above reproach and is committed to a reformed, evangelical and complementarian theological framework.

Christ Church St Ives is an Anglican Church that exists to build wholehearted disciples of Jesus who will transform the world with his Gospel. Our staff team collaborates in accordance with a purpose driven model as we seek to serve our members who attend both in person and online. More than 350 people participate in our Children's Ministry, including 60 leaders. Our Children's Minister's primary role is with these people.

1. Position Purpose

The role of Children's Minister is to prayerfully grow wholehearted disciples of Jesus, particularly among those aged We want to see a generation confident in their identity in Christ and joyously serving him in living out and sharing the gospel. This role is primarily exercised by leading and equipping leaders for our regular weekly youth ministries in partnership with parents.

2. Key Responsibilities

Oversee an excellent and growing Children's Ministry at Christ Church by:

• Setting a strategic growth plan for children's ministry incorporating both discipleship and missional goals
• Teaching, discipling and praying with children in the various programs.
• Recruiting, discipling and training leaders to lead and grow the ministry.
• Oversee the recruitment and training leaders who will disciple children (in conjunction with the team leaders).
• Oversee the connection with St Ives Integricare Preschool to see families connected with Jesus
• Contribute to the integration of children into our Mornings congregation including a weekly CYF spot and other intergenerational opportunities.
• Working with the holiday program area leader to manage volunteers and ensure a quality program is delivered.
• Recruit and mentor a Primary SRE Co-ordinator so that SRE is developed in our three local schools
• Ensure safe ministry protocols and the Child Safe Standards are upheld

Specific and detailed responsibilities will be worked out with the preferred candidate. Ongoing attention to personal Christian growth, ministry development, professional standards and WHS responsibilities are expected and encouraged in all members of our team.

3. Qualifications

Candidates for this position will have:

• Evidence of a life of discipleship in following Jesus and personal and professional commitment to see the gospel grow*
• Strong experience in children's ministry and demonstrated capability as a trainer with an ability to lead others.
• High level theological understanding with excellent verbal and written communications skills
• A qualification from Moore Theological College, Youthworks College (or another equivalent college)
• Ability to relate with a diverse range of people.

Ideally, candidates will have

• Used Elvanto in a ministry context
• Experience working within the purposes structure of church
