About the role

This exciting opportunity is based between the Success and Spearwood Public Libraries at the City of Cockburn As the Library Technician – Promotions, you will bring creativity and technical expertise to the development and coordination of promotional content that showcases the library's services, programs, and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and publish promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite and other desktop publishing tools
  • Develop engaging content for social media, websites, newsletters, and print
  • Collaborate with copywriters and ensure alignment with corporate design standards
  • Coordinate photography and manage digital assets in line with council procedures
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and engagement strategies
  • Support customer service operations, including circulation, reference, and reader services
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and educate customers on digital library tools
  • Supervise shifts and manage rosters in the absence of Branch Librarians

About You

You are a creative and customer-focused library professional with a passion for community engagement and storytelling. You bring:

  • Recognised library qualifications and eligibility for ALIA Technician membership
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and experience producing marketing content
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail in crafting promotional communications
  • Experience in digital and print marketing, including social media and website content
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, and experience in a supervisory role
  • A high level of computer literacy and understanding of technology in libraries
  • Initiative, problem-solving, and time management skills

Required: National Police Certificate and C Class Driver's Licence

Desirable: Experience in library marketing, event planning, and knowledge of WA public library environment

Salary: $ $50.66 (prorata basis inclusive of 10% loading for working unsociable hours), depending on skills and qualifications.

Hours: 42 hours per fortnight
