Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Project Manager to join the team. This role is based in the heart of Northwest Queensland.  What we offer:

  • Full Time- Level 5 OAP -$119,000–$135,000  per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) + Superannuation
  • 5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading)
  • Monthly RDO (13 per year)
  • Personal (Sick) Leave

What You'll Do:
  • Managing multiple projects from concept through to completion
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Monitoring project performance and providing progress reports
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, and procurement regulations
  • Engaging with stakeholders and the wider community
  • Addressing contract delays, variations, and quality control
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement

What You Bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing infrastructure or civil works projects
  • A solid understanding of local government operations and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office
  • Current Class C Queensland Driver's Licence and Construction White Card

Desirable: 

  • Experience working in remote or regional communities
  • Awareness of environmental and cultural heritage factors in project work
  • AIPM, PMBOK, or PRINCE2 certification
