Are you a seasoned beekeeper looking for stable, rewarding work in the regions? Weerona Apiaries is a family-run commercial operation based in Sutton, NSW, with sites across NSW, ACT, and VIC. We're seeking a reliable, hard-working Apiarist to join our crew and help care for our bees, produce quality honey, and keep things running smoothly.

About the Role

This is a full-time, ongoing position with hours that vary depending on the season. You'll be working outdoors, travelling between apiary sites, and spending most weeks on location. If you enjoy practical work, being on the land, and taking pride in what you do — this could be the perfect fit.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Travel to and from apiary sites across NSW, ACT, and VIC
  • Check hives for disease and monitor colony health
  • Add and remove honey supers as needed
  • Extract honey at our Sutton processing plant
  • Replace queens and manage hive populations
  • Operate machinery and heavy vehicles
  • Maintain hives and equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and health guidelines

What You'll Need

  • At least 3 years' experience in commercial beekeeping
  • Australian HR or higher driver's licence
  • Willingness to stay on-site at apiaries most weeks
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and good character

Bonus Skills (Not Essential, But Great to Have)

  • Certificate III in Beekeeping or similar training
  • Experience with queen breeding and hive management
  • Knowledge of biosecurity and seasonal nectar flows
  • Mechanical or carpentry skills
  • Ability to keep records and manage time independently
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
  • Passion for ethical and sustainable beekeeping
