*looking for someone to join us in January 2026*
Who we are
E1, (formerly known as EstimateOne) is a SaaS tender management platform connecting commercial builders with subcontractors and suppliers. Proudly named one of AFR's Best Places to Work in 2025, we're the market leader in Australia and New Zealand, and are now expanding our platform to the UK.
Our scaleup vibe keeps things lively. We've come a long way in 15 years, and seeing what we've achieved in that time, gets us pretty excited for the next 15. We're passionate about setting clear, fair expectations and delivering results, with a genuine commitment to wellness and happiness that you'll truly experience.
We've been recognised twice on the AFR Best Place to Work list, so we care a lot about making sure we're a place people want to work.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer with deep expertise in identifying and solving complex user problems, and the ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. You'll work in one primary cross-functional team but will extend across other teams when needed.
You'll work across the end-to-end design process: from early-stage research and system mapping through to detailed interaction design, responsive UI implementation, and usability testing.
What can you expect in your first 6-12 months?
You'll be collaborating with a local Product Manager and Lead Engineer, as well as an offshore Engineering team on high-priority initiatives that are foundational to the E1 platform's future. The work will be challenging, highly impactful, and involve a mix of system-level service design and application modernisation.
Potential initial projects will be focused on core platform capabilities, such as identity & access management, account unification, and leading the technical and design efforts for platform responsiveness and design system adoption.
As our Senior Product Designer you will:
- Focus on user research, synthesising insights, and defining clear design opportunities
- Own the end-to-end UX/UI design, prototyping, and testing for our SaaS application, ensuring all solutions are consistent, accessible, and responsive across devices
- Articulate and guide design thinking and decisions to cross-functional peers and senior leaders, leveraging data and research to secure alignment, particularly when navigating complex internal or technical dependencies.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing development and governance of our design system and component libraries, ensuring a high-quality, consistent user experience across the product ecosystem.
About You
- You have experience in SaaS organisations working in cross-functional teams
- You combine product design craft with a systems mindset, understanding how each touchpoint fits into the wider service.
- You know which UX tools and processes to deploy against a given problem
- You can proactively contribute to elevating design maturity across the organisation
- You're keen to collaborate with other designers within the design team to continually improve design consistency and quality across E1 products
- You're able to contribute to the ongoing design and development of our design system
- You have the ability to deep dive into user problems to produce compelling solutions
The ability to champion our company values matters to us; we care about our team and you'll be joining a group of people who want each other to be happy and successful. If you're a motivated self-starter and collaborative person, we need you in our team.

Perks
There's more to working at E1 than just creating game changing technology for the construction industry. We know that to reach the lofty goals we set ourselves we need to look after our team, our shareholders and the industry we serve. These are just a few of the things we offer:
- You can choose where you work - from the office, from home, or a mix of both
- If you need part-time arrangements let us know when you apply and we'll see if we can make it work for you
- You'll get a budget each year to put towards your professional development
- You'll get $500 each year to design your own WFH set up
- You'll get 5 days entrepreneurial leave per year, to work on your side projects and make them come to life
- Paid Parental leave (16 week primary carer, 6 weeks secondary carer)
- Volunteer leave
- You'll get access to 3 free & anonymous therapy sessions each year
- We partake in business wide activities twice per quarter (think escape rooms, drawing classes, games afternoons, online trivia)
- We also match non-profit donations 2:1
