Your Role

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of Inclusive Education Manager, to commence on 19 January 2026. This is a full time continuing position for 40 hours per week.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strategic leadership across all aspects of inclusion, ensuring effective support for students with disabilities, ESL backgrounds, giftedness and students in out-of-home care. They will drive consistency of practice across regions by coordinating communication, sharing expertise and leading professional development that empowers school leaders to implement inclusive strategies.

The role, based in Rockhampton, presents a wonderful opportunity for a committed educator to influence inclusive practices across Catholic Education, P-12, and to provide support that can positively impact the educational experience of students. The role has a significant focus in fostering a system-wide culture of continual improvement through data-informed decision-making, strategic resource allocation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes.

Typical duties include, but are not limited:

  • Exercise strategic management of all aspects of inclusion including disability, students with ESL, giftedness, and students in out of home care
  • Promote consistency of practice across regions by sharing resources and expertise, and coordinating regular, productive communication across the Inclusive Education team
  • In collaboration with the Inclusive Education team, design and facilitate quality professional development to ensure Principals, APCs and LSTs understand system level advice, and are knowledgeable about the practices and processes that make a difference for students with diverse learning needs
  • Lead a strategic response to the well-organised collection, collation and analysis of reliable, valid data that provides information about student progress and school needs, facilitates a system-wide understanding of trends, and informs ongoing improvement
  • Engage with external providers of relevant specialist services, negotiate service agreements, and promote and facilitate access to services that will benefit students and their educational outcomes
  • Manage preparation of budgets to ensure resources are strategically targeted to maximise outcomes for learners, informed by ongoing analyses of need using a range of quality data
  • Coordinate responses to QCEC and other external bodies in a professional, timely and collaborative manner
  • Provide advice and support on all aspects of the NCCD including training, moderation, reflection, accurate census data collection and use of funding
  • Establish an ongoing, system-wide culture of reflecting on identification processes, planning and implementing adjustments, reflecting and evaluating, and consulting as part of continual improvement
  • Liaise across Catholic Education teams (e.g. curriculum, counselling, student protection, First Nations Education) to ensure coherent service delivery.

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
