About the role

Based in Sale, this position will see the successful candidate working Full time, Monday to Friday for an outdoor power equipment specialist whilst completing a Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience while working toward a nationally recognised qualification. You will work under the guidance of qualified technicians, and you will learn how to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of outdoor power equipment, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, generators, and other petrol and battery-powered machinery.

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in mechanics and small engines, who enjoys practical work, is mechanically minded, and is eager to build a career in the outdoor power equipment industry.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in the repair, maintenance, and servicing of outdoor power equipment
  • Learn to diagnose faults in two-stroke and four-stroke engines
  • Support with equipment inspections, part replacements, and basic troubleshooting
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the workshop
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
  • Attend and complete all off-the-job training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • Demonstrate a strong will to learn and develop new skills
  • Other tasks as directed

  • Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction
  • Completion of Year 10 (minimum)
