About The Role
The newly created Lead Senior Audit Manager role, a testament to our continued success, is pivotal in driving both audit leadership and people management. This position offers enhanced development opportunities through direct leadership responsibilities, strategic support to the Chief Audit Executive, and active participation in the Internal Audit Leadership Team to continuously improve the culture and effectiveness of the Internal Audit division.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead and execute the timely delivery of designated audits and provide practice management support to the Chief Audit Executive across a range of strategic, operational and reporting activities

  • Support the Chief Audit Executive in various operational, reporting, and strategic initiatives, including the delivery of divisional priorities, managing stakeholder communications and reporting, including the preparation of Board and Executive Reporting.
  • Lead and execute the timely delivery of designated audits, ensuring adherence to Allianz Australia and Group Audit's quality standards and requirements.
  • Produce clear and succinct audit reports, articulating issues and root causes, and present findings to senior management to provide assurance, insights, and credible challenge to protect and maintain the business within the Board-set risk appetite and the Audit Committee Charter.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication across the organisation.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance Internal Audit effectiveness and foster a culture of quality, innovation, people development while fostering and team engagement.
  • Lead and coach team members, providing guidance and feedback to support professional development and ensure high performance.
  • Contribute to the Annual Internal Audit Plan and the Five-Year Audit Plan in collaboration with leadership and Group Audit.
  • Conduct special engagements to meet business objectives while maintaining audit independence.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with industry accreditations such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Significant experience in an internal audit, risk management, or senior management role within complex insurance, financial services, or consulting organizations,.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and empower individuals and teams, fostering talent development and building strong pipelines to meet organizational needs.
  • Strong skills in partnering and collaborating with senior stakeholders, influencing outcomes, and providing expert advice and guidance on Internal Audit matters.
  • Excellence in interpreting and analysing complex information, extracting insights, evaluating options for decision-making, and implementing strategic improvements to business controls and risk.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in tasks, and quickly identifying errors or inconsistencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence, and positively affecting risk behaviours.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, motivation, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results, taking full responsibility for driving and executing tasks to completion.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
