Senior Legal Counsel, Construction, 3 month engagement, premium rates

Wolf & Williams have partnered with a well established, national construction and property group, who are looking to bring on an experienced senior level front end construction lawyer to join their Sydney-based legal team, on an initial 3 to 6 month contract term, with strong potential to extend.
About the Role
You'll work directly with the legal team, but gain complete access to the wider business, building strong relationships with stakeholders, providing front-end construction advice across a range of commercial and project delivery matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and negotiating construction, consultancy, and subcontractor agreements (Australian Standard, as well as bespoke contracts);
- Advising on project risk, procurement strategy, and contract management;
- Supporting bids, tenders, and governance processes across multiple business units.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role, suited to someone who enjoys working autonomously within a collaborative in-house environment.
About You
You are a senior level construction lawyer, with solid front-end experience gained either in a private practice or corporate in-house environment.
You'll bring:
- Strong commercial judgment and practical problem-solving ability;
- Demonstrated experience in advising on construction/ building projects;
- Confidence engaging with project, and commercial teams;
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills;
- Pragmatic, solutions focussed, able to balance legal risk with business priorities.
