Wellbean Co is more than a café — we're a place of care, comfort, and community. Located within the Toowoomba Hospital and Baillie Henderson Hospital, we serve nutritious meals and great coffee while supporting the work of the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. Every coffee poured and meal prepared helps fund better healthcare for our region.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Kitchen Leader to join our Wellbean Co team. This is a full-time, hands-on role where you'll oversee the day-to-day running of our kitchen, ensuring our food is fresh, delicious, and made with care.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a busy environment, leads with heart, and takes pride in nourishing others — patients, families, hospital staff, and visitors alike.  No late nights or Weekends

What You'll Do

· Manage day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure a high standard of nutritious food is consistently available.

· Work closely with the Café Manager and Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to develop menus that align with Darling Downs Health nutrition guidelines.

· Monitor costs and minimise waste while maintaining great quality and customer care.

· Coordinate and prepare catering orders to ensure they're delivered on time and to standard.

· Ensure food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements are always met.

· Maintain excellent storage and kitchen presentation practices.

About You

You're someone who is:

· Qualified and experienced in leading a commercial kitchen.

· Passionate about food and the joy it brings to people.

· Able to work efficiently and maintain consistency under pressure.

· Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in improving processes.

· A collaborative team player who leads with respect and kindness.
