Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Head Chef in menu planning and developing innovative dishes.
- Supervising and coordinating the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitoring food preparation and presentation to maintain high standards.
- Ordering supplies, managing stock, and controlling food costs effectively.
- Training, mentoring, and supporting junior kitchen staff.
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene, food safety, and occupational health regulations.
- Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes with creativity and consistency.
- Collaborating with management and front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional service.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are highly regarded.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A passion for innovation and a willingness to adapt to evolving menu trends.
