The Role
As a Workers' Compensation Specialist, your expertise and empathy will be essential in supporting our injured team members. You will ensure the efficient and effective resolution of claims while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. FedEx is a self-insured licensee under the 'Comcare' scheme, making this role vital within our small, dedicated claims management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively supporting our team members and managing claims, including working with all stakeholders to identify barriers to recovery and return to work and developing and implementing claims strategies to address these.
- Maintaining close contact with team members and establishing positive, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Making decisions in accordance with legislative requirements in relation to claim liability and entitlements to benefits.
- Maintain detailed and organised records
- Work closely with colleagues and the business to ensure benefits are paid correctly in accordance with legislative requirements
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
- Analyse data to identify trends and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Health, Wellness and Rehabilitation Team, HR, Legal, and Safety, with a focus on securing the best outcomes.
What you'll bring to the team
- Experience in workers' compensation claims management, ideally in the Comcare scheme.
- Excellent, positive communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong, bias-free problem-solving skills and a passion for providing high-quality customer service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong time-management skills
- Adaptable and flexible – able to respond quickly to rapidly changing environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software
