OUR CLIENT

Our client is a major Federal Government agency focused on protecting Australia's security and supporting social cohesion through modern, secure, and resilient technology solutions.

DUTIES

As the Test Lead, you'll oversee the software testing process to ensure product quality and successful delivery. This includes managing a team of testers, providing technical guidance, and ensuring testing practices align with project and organisational goals.

You'll work closely with developers, business stakeholders, and project teams to plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive testing strategies that meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing all testing activities to ensure consistent quality outcomes
• Designing, developing, and executing test documentation
• Preparing regular reports on testing progress, quality, and risks
• Managing and mentoring test teams and supporting team culture
• Providing input on test tools, methodologies, and automation approaches
• Identifying and resolving issues, risks, and defects
• Building and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders and project teams
• Supporting departmental staff through knowledge transfer and clear documentation practices

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Experience planning and leading testing activities across all stages of system or product development
• Strong knowledge of test methods, tools, and best practice
• Proven ability to guide and support team members while monitoring performance and quality
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, issue management, and reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt testing methods to suit complex environments

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Test Lead
• Strong understanding of Elasticsearch
• Experience managing end-to-end testing for projects
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teams to address business challenges and drive quality outcomes
