About the role
We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to join our thriving IGA supermarket in Landsborough, Queensland. As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving the continued growth and success of our business. This is a full-time role based in our Landsborough store.
What you'll be doing
- Providing leadership and direction to the store team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Managing and optimising store operations, including inventory, merchandising, staff scheduling and budgeting
- Analysing store performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective strategies
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and legal regulations
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and the local community
- Participating in the development and execution of the store's marketing and promotional activities
- Driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising, inventory management and cost control
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager in retail, preferably in grocery/supermarket operations
- Strong leadership, people management and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement
- Experience achieving sales targets, managing wage budgets, and reducing stock loss
- Demonstrated experience implementing loss prevention strategies and managing shrinkage rates
- Familiarity with retail operations, including inventory management, budgeting and compliance
- Strong visual merchandising skills with ability to create appealing product displays
- Proficiency in POS systems, retail management software, and Microsoft Office suite essential
- A customer-centric approach and a passion for providing exceptional service
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa required
- Food Safety Supervisor certification and RSA (if applicable) required, or willingness to obtain within 30 days
