Workscreen Medical, a leading Occupational Health Clinic in Western Australia, is currently seeking experienced Health Specialists / Injury Management Advisors to join our team. We specialise in workplace health and safety, providing Occupational Medicine services to a wide range of clients, including the mining and healthcare industries.
We are looking for GREAT PEOPLE to join our team for the role of Health Specialist / Injury Management Advisor. Bachelor's degree in a health-related science discipline with AHPRA or ESSA registration, along with relevant experience, is highly desired.
ABOUT THE ROLE (MULTIPLE ROLES AVAILABLE)
Multiple exciting roles are available on a fixed-term 9-12-month contract, with possible extension for the right candidate. The roles are based at large international mining companies.
The roles offer outstanding work-life balance, with a roster that combines Perth, Mandurah, Remote (home), and Site-Based FIFO rosters. Most roles require FIFO for only 1 week per month (or less).
Full-time (9-day fortnight) and Part-time (3 days per week) rosters are available.
The successful candidate will work cohesively with Workscreen Medical Directors and site/company-based personnel, and will responsibly cover their caseload, working alone as required.
When attending to FIFO work, the sites have excellent facilities, including generous accommodation, recreational activities, a gymnasium, and great catering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate case management for workers' compensation cases, liaising with the insurer, injured workers, medical and allied health providers and company stakeholders.
- Maintain health/medical records electronically with a strong focus on data integrity, privacy and document management.
- Support site medical services (eg. Paramedics, Nurses, EAP, Physiotherapists)
- Accurately classify work-related injuries in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Support the off-site management and return-to-work process for non-work-related injuries & illnessess.
- Lead behavioural-based Field Leadership observations, offering support and technical guidance underpinned by a culture of care.
- Work with the health principals to facilitate health-related project work.
ABOUT YOU (REQUIRED)
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related / science discipline with APHRA or ESSA or similarly related registration e.g. OHS, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, registered nurse, psychology, human movements, ergonomics, human factors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to effectively engage, influence and coach varied levels of stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Working knowledge of the Workcover WA Workers' Compensation legislation
- Ability to work autonomously and act as the key point of contact for site health matters in a fast-paced role.
- Be an organised, reliable and punctual individual with strong administration skills.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Have full working rights in Australia and a current National Police Clearance (or willingness to provide).
Highly Desirable:
The following are highly desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate:
- Understanding of OSHA injury and illness classification
- Experience working in a large complex environment within mining or heavy industry
