The Flaming Beacon (TFB) is an established industry leader in the lighting of boutique luxury hospitality projects. We are currently looking for a driven and creative lighting designer to join our Melbourne Studio. If successful, you will be an important member of our team, helping to shape the way people feel and experience architectural spaces for some of the world's most exclusive hotels.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate on projects with international architects and designers
  • Manage projects across a range of scales
  • Join an office culture which provides a challenging and dynamic work environment for developing motivated lighting design professionals
  • Travel for project-related meetings and site visits
  • Research and investigate ideas to reach considered, conceptually sound and technically feasible design solutions

What we are looking for in a successful applicant:

  • A minimum of 2+ years working experience in running hospitality and/or luxury high end projects
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications in lighting design
  • Highly motivated, hardworking and professional
  • Possess strong organisational, interpersonal, and problem-resolution skills
  • Naturally curious and resourceful
  • Willing to learn and adopt company processes
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • A great communicator of ideas easily through technical and non-technical hand sketching
  • Involved in the entire lighting design process, including; concept workshops, presentation material production, technical document production, site visits, attending to queries during construction phase, and completion visits.

This is a full-time position. The salary range will be between $77,000 and $80,000 per annum plus superannuation based on your demonstrated skillset, ability, and relevant experience in similar lighting design studios and current portfolio.
