ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Myotherapist / Remedial Massage Therapists play a key role in supporting the health, performance, and recovery of players across the Club's programs; AFL, VFL and AFLW as necessary. Working as part of our medical team, the role focuses on providing evidence-based soft tissue therapy to optimise player readiness, prevent injury, and enhance recovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality remedial massage and myotherapy treatments to players, using a variety of manual therapy techniques.
- As directed by physiotherapists and medical staff, contribute to the management and rehabilitation of injuries.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Diploma of Remedial Massage and/or Advanced Diploma / Bachelor of Myotherapy
- Current membership with a recognised professional association (e.g. Massage & Myotherapy Australia, Myotherapy Association Australia)
- Current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working with athletes in a high-performance or elite sporting environment preferred
- Minimum two years of clinical experience preferred
- Professional and approachable demeanour with strong interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
