About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pizza Chef to join our team at McCartins Hotel in Leongatha, Victoria. As a full-time Woodfire Pizza Chef, you will be responsible for crafting delicious, high-quality pizzas that delight our guests. This is a pivotal role in our kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our renowned hotel and restaurant.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing and cooking a variety of woodfire pizza specialties, including classic and gourmet toppings, using a traditional woodfire pizza oven
  2. Maintaining a clean and organised workspace to ensure food safety and efficient service
  3. Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure timely and consistent meal preparation
  4. Monitoring inventory levels and communicating requirements to management
  5. Adhering to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
  6. Providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive dining experience

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role in a high-volume hospitality setting is ideal
  2. Strong knowledge of pizza preparation techniques, including dough making, sauce preparation, and topping selection
  3. Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  4. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from the Head Chef
  5. Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing pizzas that exceed customer expectations
  6. Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
