Role Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer (Backend Focus) to join our team and help build the core services powering our platform. You'll primarily focus on backend development using Java, while also contributing to frontend features using modern JavaScript frameworks. This role requires someone with technical leadership experience, capable of guiding architectural decisions and mentoring other developers.

Please Note: This position is not remote. Candidates must be available to start immediately.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services.
  • API Development: Build RESTful APIs to support web and mobile applications.
  • Frontend Collaboration: Work with frontend developers using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Nodejs, React or to ensure seamless integration.
  • Scalability & Performance: Optimize systems for high availability and performance under heavy load.
  • Data Management: Collaborate on database design and data storage strategies using relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Security: Apply best practices to ensure platform and data security.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.
  • Technical Leadership: Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years in backend development, ideally for large multi-million user platforms.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading technical initiatives or mentoring development teams.
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with valid work rights.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+) and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with MyBatis+ library
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks like React or
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with RabbitMQ and Redis.
  • Integration experience with Stripe / PayPal.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Stripe integration and payment systems experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience with cloud platforms required.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with well-established software design patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for web and mobile platforms.
